A heavy arched frame with a cloudy mirror. The glass was beyond saving; the frame was not.
Old mirrors are held with tiny brads. Pulling them one by one took an evening and a lot of patience.
A split at the top joint was clamped with a band clamp and glued. A spline now holds it from behind.
Warm oak stain, then a dark wax rubbed into the carvings and buffed off the high points.
Cut to a paper template by a local glass shop and backed with a sheet of hardboard.
